November is also hemp!

Apart from some major international events, such as Cannafest in Prague (which, however, does not include any textile events) or the recently concluded Cannafest in Vienna, November will be an interesting month for those interested in the textile hemp sector.

In particular, there are two interesting national events: Biolife in Bolzano and Canapa Street Festival in Gambettola, and an international one, the Amsterdam Cannabis EXPO, but let's start in order.

Biolife loves hemp - Bolzano

This is the slogan of the well-established Biolife trade fair to welcome hemp to its fair dedicated to conscious living, which will be held from 03 - 06 November 2022 at the Bolzano Trade Fair. A corner entirely dedicated to hemp and its many uses: cosmetics, food, natural medicines, textiles, biodegradable plastics and bricks. There will be several informative moments dedicated to discovering the industrial hemp plant and the curiosities associated with it. Also present will be the hemp pioneers in the Province of Bolzano, namely:

- Profanter Natur Backstube, Helmuth Profanter - the traditional bakery that decided to introduce hemp flour in its bread preparations

- Ecopassion, Christoph Kircher - the South Tyrolean company specialising in natural medicines, food supplements, functional and innovative cosmetics made in South Tyrol, and animal welfare

- Salewa, Christine Ladstätter - with her Alpine Hemp project which I have already told you about in this article.

·       Hanfstein, Werner Schönthaler - il primo blocco di canapa & calce con l'impatto negativo di C02 per la costruzione di abitazioni

- Circular economy of hemp, Valentine Troi - an increasingly important sector also for the promotion company from neighbouring Tyrol (Austria), which leads the Alpenhanf 360° project.

There are also two events not to be missed:

·       la presentazione del libro "H is for Hemp" dalla fotografa documentarista tedesca Maren Krings che nella sua enciclopedia della canapa presenta circa 200 progetti legati alla canapa in (quasi) tutto il mondo,

- Sustainable Fashion Show where the clothes of the fair's exhibitors are showcased in style.

Biolife is a fair dedicated to sustainable lifestyle with a focus on organic food, fashion and cosmetics, with more than 3,000 certified organic products that can be tested and purchased during the fair.

Four main areas: eating well, living well and doing good.

Hemp Street Festival - Gambettola

On 26 and 27 November 2022, a festival entirely dedicated to hemp and, in particular, to ancient crafts, hemp cloths and threads, will be held in the historical centre of Gambettola. There will also be several food stands with hemp products and entertainment dedicated to hemp. In the meantime, mark the date, because the programme will be available very soon on the Mixer website (the association dedicated to organising the event).

Amsterdam Cannabis EXPO

Towards the end of November, on the other hand, from 24 - 26 November 2022, the largest trade fair dedicated to industrial, medical and CBD hemp as well as B2B & investment in the sector will also take place. The programme will soon be available on the Amsterdam Cannabis Expo website.
